Are you ready to create a period friendly workplace?

Join us for this live Q&A with Jess Baldwin and Sophie Holmes, who will tell us all about Specsavers’ journey to becoming a period friendly workplace.

Together, we’ll explore:

  •  Where it started – what inspired them to smash period stigma in the workplace
  •  What their journey has looked like
  •  Why a period friendly workplace is so important
  •  What training they’ve delivered to support the important work they’re doing
  •  The impact of what they’ve done so far

This is a rare opportunity to get behind the curtain and learn from progressive, people-first organisations who are blazing a trail when it comes to equity, diversity and inclusion!

So, if you’re a business leader, HR or ED&I professional looking for inspiration and examples of best practice, this will be GOLD!

Jess Baldwin

I work in the Global Data Team within Specsavers as a Data Visualisation Analyst, and I love it! I have over 5 years’ experience in technology industry and one of my passions is to get more women into STEM. I wanted to create a women’s network at Specsavers with Sophie as women face many challenges at work and we wanted to look at them one by one, starting with period poverty and period stigma. We want to ensure everyone can bring their best self to work every day!

Sophie Holmes

I work in the Audiology Growth team in Specsavers and have over 10 years’ experience working as a store manager for various brands in the retail industry. Having struggled with extremely heavy and painful periods throughout my career and working in environments with varying levels of support available to me, I have become extremely passionate about breaking down the stigma surrounding periods at work. Women face a multitude of challenges in the workplace and I simply don’t believe in this day and age periods should be one of them! As a co-chair of Empowered Together, Jess and I are working hard to ensure we are creating the best working environment for women now and in the future.
