Sanctuary: How we put menstrual health on the map

Challenge

When Sanctuary, a leading housing and care provider, reached out to us, it was clear that they were committed to supporting their people: this was no tick-box exercise! Keen to shine a light on menstrual health in the workplace and ensure that people living with menstrual health conditions were supported and understood, Sanctuary wanted to deliver a robust programme that reflected this and to put menstrual health on the map.

Solution

Together, we tailored a webinar programme that spanned many common menstrual health conditions: Hormones, Mental Health and the Menstrual Cycle, PMDD, Endometriosis, PCOS, and fertility. Each webinar explored why these are essential workplace topics, who they impact and what that looks like, how we can support ourselves and others, and where to find support – both at work, and externally.

See Her Thrive then facilitated follow-up forums for PMDD, Endometriosis, PCOS and fertility. This was an opportunity to bring together anyone experiencing these issues so that they could get valuable peer support, advice and so that they could feel heard and seen by others!

Impact

Sanctuary were keen to measure the impact of the webinars. The people team gathered feedback from several webinars which indicated that:

  • 100% of webinar attendees felt that the sessions improved their knowledge on the subject
  • More than 95% of attendees reported feeling empowered to make changes that would improve their own wellbeing or the wellbeing of those around them.
  • 100% of attendees shared that Clare was an engaging facilitator: music to our ears!

But this isn’t where things end for Sanctuary: they are keen to keep menstrual health on the map, continue these conversations and provide safe and supportive spaces for their people to navigate menstrual health at work.

Feedback

“Clare is very warm and welcoming and encourages openness, which is a wonderful quality”

“Thank You. Pleased I attended. This has given me an insight into the condition and how I can support my staff.”

"Thank you for the session, it was very informative. Despite being a sufferer for years, there were things that I learnt today.” - Sanctuary Employee
